Dr. King attended Truett-McConnell J.C. and the University of Georgia prior to receiving his Doctor of Optometry Degree from the Southern College of Optometry in 1985. At SCO, Dr. King was a member of Phi Theta Upsilon Optometric Fraternity, named to the Dean’s List, and served externships at Dwight D. Eisenhower Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia and also with Dr. Ed Shannon, Sr. in Gainesville, Georgia.

After graduation, Dr. King served as a Captain in the United States Air Force at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. Dr. King served as Chief of Pediatric Optometry and preceptor for the externship program with SCO.

After leaving the Air Force, Dr. King opened King Vision Care in 1991. In June of 2000, King Vision Care moved into its present location, a 4300 square foot state of the art facility, and in December 2010, a 2500 square foot addition was added.

Dr. King is a Kiwanian, has served on several boards including the United Way and the Habersham Christian Learning Center. Additionally, Dr. King was a founding member of Habersham Little League and River Point Community Church.

Dr. King adds, “It is indeed a privilege to return to the community where I grew up and be able to provide for the vision care needs of my friends and neighbors. I am truly blessed.”
